767 candidates to contest for 185 UCs in Multan

MULTAN, Nov 10 (APP): As many as 767 candidates will contest for the slots of chairmen and vice chairmen in 185 union councils of the district during the third phase of local bodies election, sources from local Election Commission office said on Tuesday.
More than, 3766 candidates submitted their nomination papers for 1110 seats of general councils. About 69 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for 12 wards of Municipal Committee Jalapur Peer Wala and 54 candidates are contesting for 12 wards of Municipal Committee Shujabad, the sources said.
As many as 117 candidates will be elected for chairman and
vice chairmen of district council Multan while 68 will be elected
for the same slot from Municipal Corporation Multan.
A total of 24 wards chairmen, 12 from each Municipal Committee
Shujabad and Municipal Committee Jalapur Peerwala, will be elected
in third phase of elections, added the sources.
